How to fix OBS mkv file format not supported error in Adobe Premiere Pro
On this post, I will show you the steps to fix the OBS “file format not supported” error in Adobe Premiere Pro. Basically, OBS creates a .mkv video file of your screen recording and this format is not supported by Adobe Premiere Pro, so you will have to convert to a format like .mp4 to use in your projects. The solution is simple and you can use OBS program itself for it. Here are the steps:
- On OBS, go to file – Remux recordings
- choose your .mkv file
- click “Redux”
- drag the newly created .mk4 file into Adobe Premiere Pro projects
Note: You can also use another video converter program to convert the OBS video file to.mp4. However, its much easier with the OBS Video Recorder if you are using it anyway.
